Many actresses might shy away from calling themselves feminists, but Priyanka Chopra has no qualms in admitting that she is an absolute believer in feminism.
The 33-year-old actress said feminism is not an anti-male concept and, in fact, is about a conversation about gender equality.
“I am an extremely proud feminist. I am someone who believes feminism is just a conversation about equality. It is not about hating or berating men. For eons, women have been treated as second class citizens and it’s high time we are given the due credit,” Priyanka told reporters here at the trailer launch of her upcoming film Jai Gangaajal. The actress said the movie is an attempt to blur the lines between a man and a woman.
The actress, a former Miss Universe, was asked about her reaction on the recent goof up at the fianle of coveted pageant, where the host named Miss Colombia the next Miss Universe instead of the real winner, Miss Philippines.
“It is so bad. If that would have happened with me, I would’ve… I feel so sorry for Miss Columbia,” Priyanka said.
