Police arrested a man while he was seeking treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) allegedly after killing his wife at their Arambagh residence on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Chobi Koiri, wife of Gopal Chandra Koiri. Police recovered the body from the spot at 9 am in the morning.
“A forensic team of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) collected a sharp knife from the location. There were stab marks on the head and neck of the deceased,” said Moniruzzaman Mollah, Officer-in-Charge of Motijheel police station.
Police are suspecting the husband killed his wife between 1:30 am and 8am using the knife recovered from the house, the OC added.
Family members of the husband claimed that he was suffering from mental disorder for the last two years.
