Police foiled a human chain programme organised by indigenous people in Changhi square area of Khagrachhari town yesterday morning.
Chittagong Hill Tracts Citizens’ Committee, Bangladesh Adivasi Forum and CHT Headmen’s Network, arranged the programme, demanding full implementation of Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Peace Accord and formation of a separate land commission for Advasis in plain land.
Contacted, Mohammad Wahiduzzaman, Deputy Commissioner of Khagrachhari, said the organisations did not take prior permission from the district administration to form human chain.
