A human chain has been formed demanding regularization of temporary jobs of workers, teachers and employees of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC).
On Wednesday (December 8) at 3 pm in front of the office of Tiger Pass CCC under the banner of ‘Chittagong City Corporation Temporary Employees-Officers Council’.
Dr. Abu Taher, the convener of the council, spoke in favor of a one-point demand to make the job permanent during the human chain. Deepa Tripura, Dr. Hasan Murad, Dr. Sumon Talukder, Council Member Secretary Saju Mahajan, Saiful Islam, Md. Jamshed, Liton Barua etc.
Abu Taher told media that our demand is one and the same – to fill the vacancies of 1,054 posts who have been appointed as per the rules of 1988 against the vacant posts by 31st December. We have already given a memorandum to the mayor.
We will hold a human chain in front of Chittagong Press Club on 11th December. If no visible initiative is taken to secure jobs before Victory Day, I will give a strict program including strike and hunger strike.
