A big human chain of Primary school teachers was organised on Monday on Chandpur -Cumilla Regional Highway at Shologhar in Chandpur district town to protest the brutal killing of their colleague Joyonti Chakrovorty in her house on Sunday afternoon by miscreants who then fled away leaving her throat- slit body in a pool of blood.
Sadar Upazila Unit of Bangladesh Primary Teachers Association arranged it with its President Farrukh Ahmed in the chair.
It was attended by several thousand teachers with banners from some 200 primary schools in Sadar Upazila.
Assistant Thana Education Officers-Mansur Ahmed and Delwar Husain, Primary school teacher leaders- Abul Bashar , Khodeja Begum, Omar Faruque, Ismat Ara Shafi , Mostafa Kamal, Shahabuddin Ahmed, Advocate BB Majumder from District Unit of Hindu -Buddha Christian Oikya Parishad, among others spoke among others.
They all vehemently protested and condemned this heinous killing of Joyonti Chakrovorty,48, (assistant teacher of Shologhar Government Primary School), in her house just beside Chandpur Water Development Board Office and Chandpur Sadar Upazila Parishad , near DC and SP office premises. They also demanded to bring the killers of teacher Joyonti Chakrovorty to book and ensure fair trial and justice as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, while talking to the press, SP Jehadul Kabir (PPM) has said ,’ The victim’s husband Alok Goswami has filed a murder case today, Monday accusing unknown persons in connection with his wife’s brutal killing on Sunday in his own quarters at Shologhar by the miscreants.
The Police Super has added, ‘ ‘We are yet to find out any clue to this heinous killing’. Nor the mission of killing.’ Investigation is going on’.
