Chittagong Pesajibi Parishad of Chittagong formed human chain in front of Chittagong Press Club on Monday morning condemning the killing of journalist Abdul Hakim Shimul and protest against lodging of case against the PM’s press advisor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury .
President of the Pesajibi Parishad Prof. Dr.AQM Sirajul Islam demanded exemplary punishment of the killers of Shimul and disciplinary actions against the under miners of the medical profession in the question papers of the ongoing SSC exams.
President of Chittagong Union of Journalists Riaz Haider Chowdhury said the killers of journo Shimul and the vested quarter against PM’s press advisor are the enemies of democracy and these quarter are working to create another unstable political situation in the country.
President of the Parishad Dr AQM Sirajul Islam presided over it duly conducted by Riaz Haider Chowdhury, General Secretary. Leaders of Chittagong Press Club and the Chittagong Union of Journalists, TV Journalists’ Association, BFUJ, Bangladesh College Teachers’ Association , Lawyers’ Association, Sports Journalists’ Association, TV Camera Journalists Association, Bangabandu Prakaushuli Parishad and others were present in the human chain and rally, a sources said.
