Huge drugs seized from Hili

Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) seized huge cache of contraband drugs and phensidyl worth about Taka one crore from Hili frontiers under Hakimpur upazila in Dinajpur on Sunday.
According to BGB and police sources, a special BGB patrol team of Basudebpur Camp conducted a raid in Boalodar Chararhat area under Hakimpur upazila in and seized two abandoned cartoons packed with the drugs.
The seized goods included 2.52 lakh Practin tablets, 60,000 Sitmax tablets, one lakh Ciproheptadrin tablets, 14,560 pain-cumH tablets, 3,560 Senagra tablets, 12,000 Vitamin tablets, 825 ampoules of Avil, 670 ampoules of Tetanus and 147 ampoules of Mirak injections worth Taka one crore.
None was arrested during the drive as the smugglers escaped the scene.
In another raid, BGB members of Hili CP Camp seized 350 bottles of smuggled phensidyl syrup and arrested drug traffickers Julekha, 27, and Yasser Arafat, 25, from Fakirpara area in Hili frontier under the same upazila this morning.
They were handed over to Hakimpur Thana police.
