Baridhara raid: Huge cache of arms, explosives seized

Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit have seized a huge cache of firearms, ammunition and explosives during a raid in DOHS, Baridhara area of capital.
Searching a residential building in the early hours of Thursday.
The seized arms are: 50 detonators, two automatic handguns with 11 bullets, two shotguns with two shells, seven jihadi books, Tk three lakh in cash and counterfeit local currency.

The law enforcers conducted the raid on Friday with a search warrant, but found the apartment vacant.
The CTTC unit broke down the door and found the weapons and explosives cache.
Three separate cases have been filed in the Cantonment Police Station in connection with the arms recovery.
Police sources confirmed that such drives would be conducted in the future to identify and arrest militant suspects.
According to CTTC sources, intelligence report indicated that gang of militants is using an apartment in Baridhara as a hideout, and had stored firearms, ammunition and explosives there.
