Directorate of Environment (DoE) in Chittagong recovered 4.65 Metric ton banned polythene after conducting separate raids in a Polythene making industry at Rofabad area and a godown in the city’s Reazuddin Bazar on Wednesday noon.
Based on secret information that owner of a Polythene making industry has produced huge contraband polythene at Rofabad area under Bayezid thana in the city, a team of DoE led by its director Azadur Rahman Mollik conducted the drive at the factory along with other high officials of DoE and recovered 0.65 metric ton of banned polythene.
Receiving information that the owner of a godown has been marketing prohibited products secretly in the city for the last 10 months, a team of DoE led by its Deputy director Mahidur Rahman, conducted the drive along with DoE officials and recovered four metric tons of banned polythene from the godown.
