Besides acting, Naznin Hasan Chumki also gives time to direction and story writing. She lastly made a serial titled Nagordola. By this serial she has started her career as a director in the small screen. For the upcoming satellite channel, Bangla TV Chumki is making another serial titled Tilottoma-Z. She has also written its story. Hridi Haque, Tanjika Amin and Nadia Mim acted in three lead roles in this serial.
Hridi played the role of Dil Afroze of Special Branch of Bangladesh Police, Tanjika Amin acted in role of Priya Gomez, a broadcast journalist and Nadia Mim acted in role of Ashalata Purna, a documentary filmmaker in the serial. Shooting of the serial has already began in different spots in the city’s Uttara area recently.
While sharing her feelings to make this serial Chumki told this correspondent, “I have made this serial on the basis of metro life. Revolving with a case Dil Afroze, Priya Gomez and Ashalata Purna met with each other for the first time. Story of the serial goes no later. Besides them, Arfan, Shahadat Hossain, Rawnak Hassan, Tasnuva Elvin, among others, are also acting in other roles in the serial. Everybody is acting tremendously well by own ways. As I am also playwright of this serial so I have to judge myself from different aspects while making the serial.”
Nadia Mim and Hridi Haque for the first time working under Naznin Chumki’s direction. Hridi said, “Earlier under my direction she acted in many plays. In fact, this time I have to be engaged with theatre and organising activities so many times that I cannot give proper time to acting. I have better working understanding with Chumki. Its expression and affection are to acting in this serial. As acting in my blood so I am enjoying working in the serial.”
Nadia Mim said, “In a word, script of the serial is nice. So I am showing my keen interest to work in this serial. Therefore, Chumki Apu takes care of me a lot. For this reason, I am working with her unit joyfully. When an actress gives direction she can give her level best effort to improvise actors’ best works to overcome any barrier. As a director, Chumki Apu has proved herself.”
Director Chumki informed that she will make the serial in 13 episodes right this moment.
