Actor Hosne Ara Putul is hailed from Gazipur. In the beginning of 90s, she along with playwright of Gazipur Motiur Rahman Gazipuri went to Dhaka to visit Bangladesh Television Building. Putul met noted producer Barkatullah there. Barkatullah and Humayun Ahmed were planning to make popular drama serial Kothao Keu Nei during that time. After that introduction, Putul got the opportunity to act in Humayun Ahmed’s serial Kothao Keu Nei. Putul played the role Jhuma in the serial. Later, she played the role of Binti in Humayun Ahmed’s movie Aguner Poroshmoni. She got the National Film Award for acting in this film. Putul then acted in Humayun Ahmed’s movies Shyamol Chhaya, Aamar Achhe Jol, and Ure Jai Bok Pokkhi, Chandro Karigor, Sabuj Sathi, Nokkhotrer Raat, among other serials. Once Putul tied the nuptial knot with Abdul Matin. While talking about her acting career Putul said, “Though everybody called Humayun Ahmed ‘Sir’ but I always called him ‘Uncle.’ After his death, I became engaged with my family life. Most
of the time I have to engage with my daughter Maliha and son Shuvro. However, I try to do acting. It is fact that Humayun Ahmed was my
mentor in acting. After his death,
our works decreased because we were regular actors of his dramas, serials and movies. Somebody is becoming busy with their works. But I always feel something missing in my mind. In every step of my life I really miss Humayun Ahmed Uncle. In the meantime, due to corona, we have to stop acting. Now I have returned to work. I hope I will
work regularly now Inshallah.”
Putul informed that she acted in Tauquir Ahmed’s film Rupkothar Golpo and Khalid Mahmood Mithu’s film Jonakir Alo. Now she
is acting in Himu Akram directed RTV’s ongoing serial Shanti Molom 10 Taka and Sanjit Sarkar directed
a new serial. November 1 is the
birthday of Putul. Her father Abdul Hakim was also engaged with acting. When Putul was only one and half years, she lost
her father, Putul mentioned.
