A housewife was slaughtered by an unknown miscreant at Khuamuri village in Singair upazila on Friday.
Police recovered the body of Hasina Begum, 55, wife of Abdur Rahman and mother of two children, from a paddy field on Saturday morning.
Quoting family members, Sub-Inspector Sirajul Islam of Singair Police Station, said an unknown person called Hasina out of her house in the evening and slaughtered her in a paddy field around half kilometers off her house.
Police sent the body to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
Victim’s husband Abdur Rahman’s elder brother Harun Miah said his brother had been at loggerheads with his two neighbours and case was also filed. The murder might take place over the previous enmity, he said.
