A housewife was killed allegedly by her husband of dip in water in their pond over a family feud at Chunghar village in Kulaura Upazila of Moulvibazar district on Saturday 6am.
The dead body was sent to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital morgue for postmortem on Saturday morning .
The deceased was identified as Sumaya Akther Moni, 30, wife of Md. Mohiuddin at Chunghar village in Kulaura Upazila of Moulvibazar district.
Motiar Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kulaura Police Station confirmed the matter to The New Nation. He said Mohiuddin had picked up a quarrel with his wife and dip in water in their pond over a family feud and beat her up mercilessly, leaving her dead on the spot on early Saturday .
Being informed, police recovered the charred body of Moni from the pond near the Mohiuddin house in the Saturday morning, he added.
Police arrested Mohiuddin in this connection. A case was filed with Kulaura Police Station. Dead body was rushed to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital morgue of Saturday, he added.
