DU’s ‘Kha’ unit admission test held peacefully

The “Kha” unit entry test for the first-year admission into the honours course for the 2021-22 academic sessions under arts faculty of Dhaka University (DU) was held yesterday in all eight divisions.
The one and half hour test was held from 11am to 12:30 pm where a total of 58, 565 students applied to vie against 1,288 seats under the unit.
“The examination was held peacefully and there was no news of any untoward incident. This year, we decided to hold the exams in all eight divisions of the country to minimize the sufferings to the candidates and their parents,” said DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Akhtaruzzaman after visiting the exam halls. “The vice chancellors of respective universities and concerned authorities helped us in this regard,” he added.
Pro-VC (Academic) Dr ASM Maksud Kamal, Pro-VC (Administration) Professor Dr Mohhamad Samad, Arts Faculty Dean Professor Abdul Bashir and DU Proctor AKM Golam Rabbani, among others, also visited the examination halls.
The admission test to the ‘Gha’ unit under Social Science Faculty will be held on June 11 and the ‘Cha’ unit exam under Fine Arts faculty (General Knowledge) will take place on June 17.
The universities outside Dhaka where exams are taking place are Chittagong University, Rajshahi University, Khulna University, Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in Sylhet, Barishal University, and Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur.
