Rabeya Begum (50), mother of 3 children who was going to fetch pure drinking water from the local BRAC office was killed on the spot on Signboard Bazar-Bogi local Highway just in front of Morrelganj Fire Service Office under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district was killed on the spot on Friday morning when she was ran over by an easy bike. The deceased was the wife of one Montu Talukdar of Purbo Sharalia under the Upazila.
It is learnt from her 2 daughters (Iti Aktar and Sukhi Begum) that in the morning their mother was going from the her house to the local BRAC Office in order to fetch pure drinking water and when she reached he placed of occurrence the speeding killer easy bike dashed her violently from her behind and fled away. As a result, he was seriously injured and fell on the highway.
Then the officials and employees of the Fire Service Office recovered her from there and rushed her to the local Upazila Hospital where the physician on duty declared her dead. Md. Monirul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Morrelganj PS admitted the fact.
