A young housewife was beaten to death allegedly by her husband and mother-in-law over a dowry-related conflict at Rasulpur village in the district town on Friday night.
The victim was identified as Rabeya Khatun,17, wife of Rabiul Islam, a resident of the village.
Local sources said since after their marriage, Rabiul had often tortured Rabeya for dowry.
On Friday night, Rabiul and his mother Rokeya Khatun beat Rabeya mercilessly over the issue, leaving her seriously injured.
