A hotel worker identified as Ibrahim Matubbar, 25 who worked in a hotel in Bhanga upazila headquarter drowned on Thursday when he went to upazila pond along with other colleagues for taking bath.
According to police of Bhanga, Ibrahim son of Shahed Matubbar of Nagarkanda upazila drowned when he dived deep into the water but did not come out even after two hours.
Locals rushed to the spot and retrieved his body after searching half an hour in the pond.
Police registered a UD case in this connection.
