Holy Ashura observed in Rajshahi

The holy Ashura, marking the tragic 10th day of Muharram, was observed here on Friday with due religious fervor and zeal. Different religious organisations, including Islamic Foundation, observed the day through various programmes. The Shia community people brought out a Tazia procession in the city from Shaheb Bazar area which paraded the main streets chanting “Hai Hussein, Hai Hussein”. Besides, several processions were brought out from city’s different areas including Dargapara, Seroil and Upashahar. Other programmes of the day included Quran Khwani, Milad Mahfil and fasting. Islamic Foundation organized a discussion on ‘Importance of Holy Ashura in Preserving Peace and Order in Society’ at its divisional office. Marking the holy day, thousands of musallis at the end of after Friday’s Juma prayers offered special munajats seeking divine blessings and eternal peace of departed souls particularly their near and dear ones, continued peace, progress, and prosperity of the country and as well as greater welfare of the Muslim Ummah, repotys BSS.
