The National Committee for Prevention and Control on Covid-19 on Tuesday recommended extension of the general holiday till May 1 as the situation due to the pandemic has yet been improved.
The decision was taken unanimously in a meeting, presided over by committee president Health Minister Zahid Maleque.
State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman told media that a written proposal has been sent to the Prime Minister’s office for the final decision.
The government has extended the ongoing “general holiday” for fouth time till April 25.
Amid the worldwide outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the government had first announced a 10-day holiday from March 26 to April 4. Later, it was extended till April 11.
The holiday was again extended for the third phase till April 14 and till April 25 for the fourth time.
