Holders of banned Tk 10 and Tk 50 prize bonds can cash their instruments from the branches of scheduled banks or general post office (GPO) by February 26.
In a circular on Sunday, Bangladesh Bank gave instructions in this regard against the backdrop of the government’s decision closing transaction of Tk 10 and Tk 50 prize bonds.
The circular said that the branches of the banks and post offices will send them to the head offices by March 31 and the Bangladesh Bank will receive them as per regulation.
Referring to a gazette notification of Internal Resources Division of the Finance Ministry, the central bank circular said that the transactions of Tk 10 and Tk 50 prize bonds have completely been closed down from January 31, 2015.
Meanwhile, the draw of the Tk 100 prize bonds was held at the office of the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner’s office on Sunday.
