Bangladesh Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim will play his 50th Test during the second and final Test against visiting England scheduled to begin on Friday (October 28) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur.
The right handed batsman Mushfiq as a third Bangladeshi cricket to reach the milestone after former national skippers Mohammad Ashraful (61) and Habibul Bashar Suman (50), who touched the milestone. Besides, Khaled Masud Pilot played 44 Tests while Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan played equal 43 Tests.
Mushfiq was debuted against England as wicket keeper-batsman backed in May 26, 2005 in Lords. He scored 2737 runs with an average of 32.58 from 49 Tests playing 90 innings having three Test hundreds and 15 Test half centuries.
The diminutive wicket keeper as a first Bangladeshi to scored Test double hundred against Sri Lanka in 2013. He has also ninety dismissal records behind the wicket including 79 catches and 11 stumping.
