Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested two suspected members of Sarwar-Tamim group of the militant outfit “Neo JMB” in the city Demra area of on Thursday morning.
The arrested persons, Tusar Habib alias Aiyub, 26, and Abu Bakar Siddik, 35, are accused in several cases. Both of them are hailed from Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj district, a RAB official said.
A team of RAB-11condcuted a drive in Damra in the small hours of the day and arrested them, said Md Shakil Ahmed, Rab-11 Additional Superintendent of Police.
On initial interrogation, the detainees confessed to their involvement with the Sarwar-Tamim group, the RAB official said.
They were involved in militant activities around two years ago, he said.
“We will further interrogate for them,” the official of the elite force said.
