UNB, Chittagong :
A court here on Thursday deferred again the verdict in the sensational Himadri Mazumder Himu murder case to August 14 (Sunday). Judge of Additional Metropolitan Session Judge Court-4 Nurul Islam fixed the date, said Public Prosecutor of the court Anupam Chakrabarty.
Earlier on July 16, the court fixed July 28 to
deliver the verdict on the murder case. However, the verdict was not delivered on the day as the judge of the court went on leave and fixed today (Thursday) for delivering the verdict. But the date was deferred again due to ‘full court reference’ at the court today, said Anupam.
Himadri Majumdar Himu, an A-level student of Summerfield School and College in Chittagong, was pushed off a four-storey building after unleashing dog on him on April 27, 2012.
Later, he succumbed to his injuries on May 23, 2012, 26 days after the incident.
Asit Das, maternal uncle of Himu, filed a case against five people with Panchlaish Police Station. The accused were Zahidur Rahman Shaon, Junayed Ahmed Riad, his father Shah Selim Tipu, Shahadat Hossain Saju and Mahbub Ali Danny.
Among the five accused, Shah Selim Tipu, Shahadat Hossain Saju and Mahbub Ali Danny are now behind the bars while Zahidur Rahman Shaon and Junayed Ahmed Riad are on the run.
