Hemayet Molla clinched the Men’s single title of the four-day Victory Day Carrom Tournament held at Bangladesh Carrom Federation hall-room at Maulana Bhashani Hockey Stadium here on Sunday.
Mohammad Ali Robin and Hafizur Rahman finished runner-up and 2nd runner-up respectively in the Men’s single category.
Afsana Nasrin emerged champion in the Women’s single category while Sabina Akter finished runner-up and Farhana Nasrin Lipi placed third.
In the Men’s doubles’ category, Hemayet Molla and Mohammad Ali Robin emerged champion; Hafizur Rahman and Faysal Ahmed Shuva finished runners-up while Salahuddin Kaizer and Sanwar Hossain placed third.
In the Women’s doubles’ category, Afsana Nasrin and Farhana Nasrin emerged champion; Sabina Akter and Ainun Nishat finished runners-up while Juthi and Eva placed third.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak who also the president of the Bangladesh Carrom Federation, distributed prizes among the winners as the chief guest.
Dr Sheikh Abdus Salam, a professor of Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, Dhaka University was also present in the closing function.
