Hemayet Hossain and Md. Anisul Islam Noor were elected unopposed Unit Chief and Deputy Unit Chief of The New Nation unit of the Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ)
on Thursday. Golam Haider, as the Chief Election Commissioner and ANM Wahiduzzaman, as Assistance Election Commissioner, conducted the election peacefully.
The Annual General Meeting of the unit was held in the Conference Hall of Manik Mia Foundation (MMF) presided at by the outgoing unit chief Md Shahidul Islam Shahid.
Editor of The New Nation A M Mufazzal, News Editor Shahjahan Mozumder, Secretary General of MMF Syed Tosharaf Ali, senior journalists, A.T.M. Nurun Nabi, Alamgir Khan, Kazi Zahidul Hassan, Sagor Biswas, Md Gazi Anwoarul Hoque, Sharif Khan and MM Jasim, among others, spoke on the occasion.
All the members of the unit were present in the meeting.
