Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh has programmed to lay siege to the US Embassy in Dhaka on December 13, in protest against Trump administration’s recognition of Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.
Noor Hossain Qasimi, President of Hefazat’s Dhaka Metropolitan unit, announced it in a short rally on Friday after the Jumma prayers in front of the north gate of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.
The leaders of Hefazat-e-Islam strongly condemned the US president’s decision about Jerusalem – a holy city to the Muslims, the Christians and the Jews. It is also known as the City of Peace.
They said that the US presidency had unleashed a war against the Muslim community.
The World Muslim leaders and the population should be united against such an aggressive decision, they added.
The Hefazat leaders further said, Jerusalem is not only a holy land for Palestinian Muslims, but of the entire Muslim community as Islam’s first qibla, Baitul Mukaddas, is situated here.
Jerusalem is even more precious than the blood of Muslims and it can never be given to the Jews people, they said.
They also questioned the image of the USA and identified Donald Trump’s announcement as a serious threat to the world peace. Several Islamic political parties also demonstrated against the US President’ recognition of Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.
President Donald Trump on December 6 recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, an impractical decision that overturns decades of US policy and risks to fresh wave of violence in the Middle East.
