A Dhaka court on Wednesday deferred recording the deposition of witnesses in a defamation case against BNP Standing Committee member Dr Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain to January 25 of 2016.
Magistrate Ataul Haque of Dhaka CMM Court passed the order following a time petition of the prosecution. Accused Mosharraf was not produced to the court yesterday.
On January 20, 2013, Jananetri Parishad President AB Siddiqui filed
the case with the CMM Court of Dhaka while the court framed charges against the accused on October 27, last year.
On December 31, 2012, Khandaker Mosharraf said while addressing a gathering in front of Jatiya Press Club, “The Government has been contemplating to go to power again rejecting the Caretaker Government system through a conspiracy. However, if they want to remain in power, they will have to suffer the fate of 1975.”
