BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir appeared to a Dhaka court on Thursday morning in four separate cases filed with Ramna and Shahjahanpur Police on charges of creating panic and disruption of vehicles movement on the streets.
With him, BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas and Joint Secretary General Amanullah Aman also appeared to the court of Magistrate Tareque Moinul Islam Bhuiyan of
Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court.
Of the four cases, two were filed with Ramna Police Station for creating panic and disruption of vehicle movement on the streets in March last year, while the remaining two cases were filed with Shahjahanpur Police Station under the Speedy Trial Act. Thursday (January 30) was fixed for hearing on charge framing in the cases.
As jailed Barrister Moudud Ahmed is one of accused in the cases and other accused were not present in the court, the hearing was not held on Thursday.
The court fixed March 30 for hearing on charge framing in the cases filed with Ramna Police Station and February 27 for hearing in the other two cases filed under the Penal Code.
