Hearing of Forkan’s trial adjourned till today

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of the trial of Forkan Mallik, an alleged Razakar commander from Mirzaganj of Patuakhali till today.
The tribunal adjourned the hearing, accepting an verbal time plea from Abdus Salam Khan, counsel for Mallik.
Advocate Khan asked around ten questions to Md Habibur Rahman Badshah, first prosecution witness, and pleaded for time leaving the cross-examination incomplete.
Badshah, submitted his deposition on January 19, accusing Mallik for killing a man and raping his daughter in 1971. The second tribunal on December 18, 2014, indicted Mallik and framed five specific charges of crimes against humanity including murder, rape, torture and conversion.
Police arrested Forkan on June 25, and he is in jail since then.
Meanwhile, the same tribunal adjourned the hearing of the trial of Mahidur Rahman and Afsar Hossain Chutu, alleged Razakar leaders from Chapainawabganj, till today.
Yesterday was fixed for start recording the deposition of prosecution witnesses, but the tribunal adjourned the hearing accepting a plea of the defence.
The ICT-2 on December 11, 2014, indicted the duo and framed three charges of crimes against humanity against them.
