Ali Noor, the health education secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and his wife have tested positive for Covid-19.
The couple received their test results five days ago. They are currently residing at home under self-isolation, confirmed Public Relation Officer (PRO) of Health and Family Welfare Ministry Maidul Islam.Earlier, on Saturday, Kamrun Nahar, the wife of health services division’s Secretary Md Abdul Mannan, also passed away from Covid-19.
Maidul Islam, the health ministry PRO who confirmed Ali Noor’s case to Dhaka Tribune, has tested positive for the virus as well.
A total of 87,520 people have thus far tested positive for Covid-19 in Bangladesh. Number of deaths from the virus stands at 1,171 at the current time.
