Health awareness campaign for students stressed

Leading health experts stressed the need for launching massive campaign to create heath awareness among the students for ensuring their good health.
Students should be educated on health issues to prevent different diseases, they told the function with the slogan “Incentive for good health.”
Save Life Foundation and Gift Life Foundation, Raj Dental World and Raj Dental Centre jointly organised the function at Lake Circus Girls High School at Kalabagan in the city on Wednesday.
Chief Advisor of Save Life Foundation and Gift Life Foundation National Prof MR Khan, Chairman of Save Life Foundation and President of Gift Live Foundation Dr Sohely Ahmed Sweety and Advisor of the foundation Prof Kabir Chowdhury and Dr Md Asafujjaha Raj, among others, addressed the function. Several hundreds of students of the school were also present on the occasion.
Prof MR Khan said students should avoid any unhealthy practices including having fast food items to prevent different diseases including diabetes, kidney and health diseases.
“In Bangladesh, nearly two crore out of 16 crore people are suffering from
kidney disease and the figure indicates a sharp rise of the disease,” Dr
Sohely Ahmed Sweety said adding that we have to control high blood pressure
and diabetics as well as to avoid smoking for preventing kidney ailments.
Describing kidney ailment as a silent killer disease, she urged the people
to check overweight and to have safe drinking water for keeping kidney
healthy.
There are inter-linkage among all organs of body, Prof Kabir said adding if
one organ is damaged, it may hamper function of other organs of the body. “If
skin of body starts getting dry, we have to understand that kidney is not
functioning properly. So, it needs to be treated to avoid kidney failure,” he
added
