The High Court will give a ruling on Monday on a petition for further investigation into a case filed over the sensational Narayanganj seven murders.
Selina Islam Beauty, the widow of slain Narayanganj City Corporation councillor Nazrul Islam, moved the court last month. After hearing the plea on Dec 6, the bench of justices M Enayetur Rahim and Amir Hossain had set Wednesday for its ruling.
But it was deferred as the court sought petitioner’s
statement given to the trial court over the matter. Beauty had filed the petition after a Narayanganj court rejected her objection to the chargesheet which police had submitted in April, nearly one year after the murders. The court last week in an observation said the chargesheet filed in the case was flawed, something plaintiff Beauty has all along claimed.
