A judge of a High Court (HC) bench on Wednesday felt embarrassed to hear a petition filed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia seeking stay on the trial proceedings of Zia Charitable Trust case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) against her.

lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan told the reporters. He said that the Justice did not disclose the reasons behind his feeling.
The HC bench will now send the petition to Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha and after receiving the petition, the chief justice will assign another bench for its hearing, the ACC lawyer said.
On December 6, Khaleda Zia submitted the criminal revision petition to the HC through his lawyers also seeking cancellation of statements recorded by the trial court from 32 prosecution witnesses of the case filed in 2011.
Khaleda said in the petition that the recording the witnesses’ statements did not take place under the criminal rules and procedures.
On August 8, 2011, the ACC lodged the Zia Charitable Trust case against Khaleda and three others for abusing power in setting up the charity.
The other accused are Harris Chowdhury, Khaleda Zia’s former Political Secretary, Ziaul Islam Munna, Assistant Private Secretary (APS) of Harris, and Monirul Islam Khan, APS of former Dhaka City Corporation mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka.
