HC gets 9 new Addl judges

Nine Additional Judges have been appointed for the High Court (HC) Division of the Supreme Court raising its number to 100.
President Md Abdul Hamid appointed them as per his jurisdiction delegated in the Section 98 of the Constitution, said a notification issued by the Law Ministry on Sunday.
As per the Law Ministry notification, the new judges are—District and Session Judge Muhammad Mahbub-ul-Islam, District and Session Judge Shahed

 Nuruddin, SC Registrar General Dr Md Zakir Hossain, District and Session Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman, Supreme Court Advocate Md Mahmud Hasan Talukder, Advocate Kazi Ebadat Hossain, Deputy Attorney General KM Zahid Sarwar, Deputy Attorney General AKM Zahirul Haque and Deputy Attorney General Kazi Zinat Hoque.
Their appointment will come into effect from the date of taking oath, the notification also read. They will discharge their duties for two years as Additional Judges.
Md Saifur Rahman, Special Officer of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court, said that the Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain will administer the oath to the new HC judges today (Monday) at 10.30 am.
