Court Correspondent :
A vacation bench of the High Court yesterday (Wednesday) dismissed a writ petition seeking its directive for auto promotions of about 5,000 auditors of the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (OCAG) without any test.
The vacation bench comprising Justice Naima Haider and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil passed the order, that paved way for taking examinations on May 5.
Lawyer Tanay Kumar Saha filed the writ on
Tuesday challenging the decision of holding departmental examination for promotion.
Earlier, the court ordered for giving promotion to the auditors. The lawyer filed the writ on behalf of his clients for compliance of that order. But the court summarily rejected the plea, saying that order had not said anything about giving promotion without any examination, the lawyer added.
