Staff Reporter: The High Court on Thursday asked the government to find out reasons behind deaths of 33 animals at Sylhet Eco Park through forming an enquiry committee.
It has given directives to search the reasons of the deaths of those animals and birds at the wildlife conservation centre in Tilagarh Eco Park of Sylhet and the persons responsible in these regards.
The court also asked the authority to form a separate special unit with relevant medical experts for proper treatment of the animals at the conservation centre.
The court also asked authorities to explain why their failure to protect the wild lives should not be declared illegal.
The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mustafizur Rahman came up with the order and rule following a writ petition filed by Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Manoj Kumar Bhowmick seeking necessary directives.
