HC asks CCs Prevent dengue menace

The High Court (HC) on Tuesday directed the two city corporations to take effective steps to prevent spread of Dengue mosquito in the city.
The HC also asked the corporations to submit a report in this court within two weeks in this regard.
The Mayors and Chief Executive Officers of Dhaka North City Corporation and Dhaka South City Corporation have been asked to submit the report detailing the steps taken for properly spraying medicine in the wards.
The HC bench of justice F R M Nazmul Ahasan and Justice K M Kamrul Kader passed the order during hearing of a writ petition moved by Advocate Manzill Murshid on behalf of Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh (HRPB), a rights organization, seeking its directive on the government to prevent air pollution in Dhaka.
During hearing, the two City Corporation authorities submitted two separate reports in the court saying that they had taken multiple steps including awareness building for preventing Dengue in the capital.
Manzill Murshid told the court that the Dengue menace is very serious in the capital and many people including the Finance Minister have been reportedly affected by Dengue mosquito.
So, effective steps need to be taken to prevent Dengue menace.
