Hathurusingha gets extension until 2019 WC

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has extended the contract of Tigers’ Head Coach Chandika Hathurusingha until 2019 World Cup apparently for his successful stint in the last two years.
The Board of Directors of BCB approved the decision at a meeting held on Sunday at the home of Bangladesh Cricket in Mirpur with BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon in the chair.
Bangladesh’s Assistant coach Ruwan Kalpage, fielding coach Richard Halsall and fitness and conditioning coach Mario Villavarayan were also retained for another three years.
Chandika Hathurusingha, who was appointed head coach in May, 2014, will also find a place in the six-man selection committee along with Bangladesh team manager Khaled Mahmud Sujon and BCB’s cricket operations committee chairman Akram Khan.
The meeting approved the two-tier six-member national selection penal with former Bangladesh batsman and junior selector Sajjad Ahmed was promoted to the three-man national selection panel under Faruque Ahmed.
He replaced former Bangladesh captain and national selector Habibul Bashar, who was given the charge of Bangladesh women’s cricket team’s charge. But Minhajul Abedin retained his place as a senior selector in the panel.
