As an anchor of three popular programmes of BTV – Chhayachhondo, Chhayabani and Chitrojogot – Hasna Hena established her name as a brand among the film-lover viewers. She was the most popular anchor of the country’s film related magazine show. After the death of Salman Shah, on September 29 in 1996, a special Chhayachhondo was telecasted on BTV which was a compliation of Salman Shah-starrer films based 29 songs. Hasna Hena hosted this special episode. Basically her
outstanding presentation made Chhayachhondo a popular TV show during that time. Shabnur directly appreciated her anchoring. From 1996 to 1997, Hasna Hena made Chhayachhondo, from 1997 to 1998 monthly show Chhayabani, which was planned, scripted and anchored by her, and later she made a fortnightly 30-minute show Chitrojogot, which was made under the banner of package produced by her own production house, Prapti Telefilm. It was telecasted on BTV till 2001. In 2005, with the assistance of journalist Syed Borhan Kabir, Hena started to anchor special days’ programmes including Eid and Valentine’s Day. During that time, she anchored two programmes – Chhobir Golpo and Hit Superhit on ATN Bangla. On that year, she came into limelight to make a show titled Shunchhilen Shironam with the participation of 11 contemporary talented journalists. She went to Sydney in 2006 for higher study. She was attached with Channel 31 for six years at a time. Besides this, she also taught Bengali there without taking any remuneration. According to her, director Ehtesham wanted to make a film with her because the director saw the shadow of Suchitra Sen in her. In 2010 and 2015, she anchored women related show Nondini O Nondontottwo on BTV. Few days ago, Hasna returned to country. Then, she became busy with own agro farm in her hometown in Khulna. Now she is anchoring two shows on News24 – Aamar Krishi Aamar Khamar and Coronakale Adda.
While talking about her present engagement Hasna Hena said, “At first, I feel gratitude to the viewers that they still remember me. It is a great achievement in my life that I still get huge loves from the viewers while moving elsewhere in the country.” Hasna Hena secured the first position in Nazrul Sangeet when she was a student of Class-IX. July 4 was her birthday. Basically mother’s inspiration brought her into this position, Hasna Hena mentioned.
