Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina recently met with Samish Kumar, Chief Executive Officer of Transpay, a leading provider of B2B/B2P cross-border payments solutions with a view to discussing the role of the growing digital economy in the country.
The meeting took place at New York’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, where Prime Minister Hasina addressed business leaders, says a press release.
The meeting was jointly organised by Transpay and Business Council for International Understanding.
“Transpay is pleased to contribute to the continued growth of the digital economy in Bangladesh,” says Kumar. “As Bangladeshi freelancers provide services to businesses around the world, Transpay in turn provides those freelancers with a convenient, high-quality payments service to repatriate their earnings back to their country.”
Kumar says, Transpay serves tens of thousands of Bangladeshi freelancers, developers and programmers, and sends a significant number of payments to freelancers in Bangladesh.
“Transpay is proud to contribute to the vitality of the freelancing community in Bangladesh, and to the country’s emergence as a solid player in the freelance industry globally,” says Kumar. “We will continue to grow our commitment to provide Bangladeshi freelancers with convenient, economical, secure and state-of-the-art cross-border payments services.”
