Hasan Emam and Dewan Riad shared the lead in the ACP’B FIDE Rapid Rating Chess Tournament after the 5th round games at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room here on Friday.
Hasan of Sheikh Russel Chess Club and Riad of Sultana Kamal Smiriti Pathagar earrned full five points each to take the joint lead.
FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon of Sheikh Russel Chess Club and Abu Hanif of Sonali Bank Sports & Recreation Club shared the second slot securing 4.5 points each also from five round matches.
The event is an initiative to raise fund for the treatment of International rated chess player FM Obaida Nipun who is now suffering
from serious ailment.
Earlier, president of Dr Shahriyar Smiriti Sangsad and adviser of the Golden Sporting Club Mohammad Sarwar inaugurated the event as the chief guest.
