Hasan leaves for India

Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud left here yesterday for India on a four-day official visit there, said an official handout here.
During his visit, the minister will hold a bilateral meeting with Indian Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar for expanding cooperation in the information sector of the two countries.
The two ministers are expected to jointly inaugurate the airing of Bangladesh Betar in India and simultaneous airing of Akashvani in Bangladesh.
Besides, an agreement will be signed during the visit between the film development corporations of the two countries to make a film on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Bangladesh Television (BTV), the state-owned TV channel, started airing its programmes in India from September 2 after Dr Hasan Mahmud took charge of the information ministry.
Hasan will also visit Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad to exchange experience for building the country’s Bangabandhu Film City a modern one.
Officials of Bangladesh Betar, Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) and Information Ministry will accompany the minister.
