M Hasan emerged champion in the UCC Standard Rating Chess competition that concluded on Friday evening at E-commerce hall room in the city’s Uttara, said a Uttara Central Chess Club press release today.
Hasan, Golam Sarowar and Sabbir Shah secured equal 5.5 points each from seven matches. Their championship was decided through a tie breaking system and Hasan emerged champion and Sarowar finished runners-up while Sabbir Shah placed in third position.
Besides, Moniruzzaman Moni, Akramuzzaman, and Saifur Rahman finished fourth, fifth and sixth place respectively through a tie breaking system with equal five points each after the last round.
Uttara Central Chess Club president Rahat Hossain was the chief guest on the closing day of the competition and distributed the prizes.
