Today is the birthday of Ekushey Award and National Film Award winner legendary film actor ATM Shamsuzzaman and National Film Award winner popular film actress Poppy.
Runi Zaman, wife of ATM Shamsuzzaman, informed that her husband was seriously ill for many days and his present condition has improved a little bit. Now the veteran actor is passing days at his residence in the capital’s Sutrapur area silently.
While talking about his birthday ATM Shamsuzzaman said, “I never celebrate my birthday. But a festive atmosphere rises with this day. Last year’s birthday I was my daughter’s residence in Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital. Many celebrities came to me to wish me on my birthday. This year it will not be happened because everybody fears about Coronavirus. I have to remain careful and conscious about the virus. Allah keeps me well. Despite having interest I cannot meet anybody now. Everybody pray for me. I am grateful to the Prime Minister as she always wanted to know about my physical condition. I pray for her as she can also remain well. I will take part in shooting after improving the corona situation.”
On the other hand, though Poppy wanted to celebrate her birthday differently this year but due to corona it will not be possible. Today she will be present as invited guest at Channel i’s Tarokakothon.
While talking about her birthday Poppy said, “Due to coronavirus, I have no special plan to celebrate my birthday this year because everyday many people are dying. I am feeling bad in this regard. So, I am not thinking about celebration of my birthday. Everybody pray for me.”
Poppy became photo-beauty in Lux-Anandabichitra in 1995. Poppy first acted against Ilias Kanchan in TV drama Nayok. Coolie was Poppy-starrer her first movie where Omar Sani acted against her.
