Hamid Economic Zone gets pre-qualification license

Hamid Economic Zone (EZ), a unit of the Hamid Group, has received pre-qualification license from the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) for setting up environment friendly industries.
BEZA Executive Chairman Paban Chowdhury on Wednesday handed over the license to the authority of the Hamid Group at a function at the BEZA headquarters in the city, said a press release.
Hamid EZ will be established beside the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Trishal in Mymensingh district. The total area of the zone is around 153 acres which is likely to increase up to 300 acres in future.
In the economic zone, entrepreneurs from the different sectors are likely to set up 57 industries.
Around 38,000 skilled and unskilled people are expected to get jobs in the EZ. The development works of the EZ is likely to start from 2019.
