The Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations will begin at 2pm instead of 10am today (Tuesday) due to a half-day hartal called by the Gonojagoron Mancha protesting the killing of Jagriti Prokashani owner Faisal Arefin Dipan.
The Education Ministry took the decision in an emergency meeting on Monday.
The ministry sources said that it took the decision considering the students’
sufferings and to avert any untoward incident during the hartal.
The JSC students will sit for the English 1st paper examination and JDC students for Bangla 1st paper.
Gonojagoron Mancha called a countrywide half-day hartal protesting the killing of Faisal Arefin Dipan who published the books of Blogger Avijit Roy and the attacks on another publisher and blogger.
The JSC and JDC examinations-2015 began across the country on Sunday with the participation of 2,325,933 students.
