Halda declared as Bangabandhu Fisheries Heritage

The govt has declared the Halda river, a natural fish breeding cente of the country , as Bangabandhu Fisheries Heritage.
The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock has issued a notification in this regard recently.
In order to ensure the safety of carp fish and preserve the habitat of Gangetic dolphins through conservation of natural environment and improvement of environmental standards, rivers flowing through Ramgarh and Manikchhari upazilas of Khagrachhari district, Fatikchhari, Raozan, Hathazari upazilas of chattogram district and rivers flowing through Chandgaon area, 23 thousand 422 acres of land to be declared as Bangabandhu Heritage.
As per the previous promise, the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock declared Halda river as Bangabandhu Fisheries Heritage.
According to the govt’s gazette, 12 conditions will be applicable in Bangabandhu Fisheries Heritage area.
