Hajj activities from Pahartali Hajj camp demanded

Hajj Pilgrims Welfare Council(HPWC) demanded commissioning of Pahartali Haji camp in Chittagong which was built by the erstwhile Pak govt in 1948 over 9 acres of land . The demand of re- commissioning of the existing ancient hajj camp was placed before the human chain formed by the Chittagong based Hajj Pilgrims welfare council at laldighi maidan in the afternoon yesterday. President of the Parishad Ahmedul Islam Chowdhury presided the human chain and the secretary g general Principal Dr. AbdulKarim delivered the address of welcome in it. The human chain also demanded introduction of
Chittagong-Jeddah flight for the pilgrims of Chittagong division from the existing Haji camp of Pahartali rather Dhaka Ashekona Haji camp The council also demanded re-commissioning of 60 years old Chittagong(Pahartali) Haji camp in the city for the pilgrims of Chittagong division. At the human chain of HPWC said the pilgrims used to face utter miseries to board the Hajj flight from Dhaka.
The pilgrims from rural areas of the division are compelled to reach Dhaka either by rail or road which is most difficult for the elderly and illiterate people. Moreover maximum pilgrims from Chittagong zone are elderly aged and they have to suffer miseries and uncomfortable by road journey to Dhaka.
Before the human chain, Hajj training and workshop was arranged by HPWc at Zilla Parishad Hall in the morning.
The aspirant hajj pilgrims were apprised about the norms of Hajj through multimedia projector. Divisional Director of Islamic Foundation, Chittagong Abul Hayat Md. Tarek will coordinate the workshop and seminar. Former district Judge Md. Ismail Miah will imparted hajj formalities to the intending hajis through projector. Huge numbers of hajj pilgrims participated the training workshop.
