A prosecution witness (PW) on Thursday blamed accused Razakar commander Syed M Hachen alias Hasan Ali, now on the run, for carrying out atrocities in Tarail of Kishoreganj during the Liberation War, corroborating the factual evidence of the other PWs in the case.
Shamsul Alam, now 62, made the accusation while testifying against the accused also known as Razakar Hachen Daroga before the International Crimes Tribunal-1 as PW-15. Shamsul, hailing from village Borgaon in Tarail upazila, told the tribunal that Hachen had killed three people of Hindu minority community who along with their families had been going by a boat to India for taking refuge there. “The incident took place on September 27, 1971,” he recalled, adding:
“I saw the killing as during the incident I along with my business partners had been returning from Chowgachha Bazar by a boat after a search carried out by Razakar Hachen and his armed cohorts.”
