The ICC Champions Trophy will be held in June in England. ICC has appointed Habibul Bashar as the Brand Ambassador of ICC Champions Trophy.
The curtain of ICC Champions Trophy will be raised in 1st June. Apart from Habibul Bashar, Ian Bell of England, Shahid Afridi of Pakistan, Shane Bond of New Zealand, Michael Hussey of Australia, Harbhajan Singh of India, Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka, Graeme Smith of South Africa have been named Brand Ambassadors of ICC Champions Trophy by International Cricket Council (ICC).
The opening match will be held at Oval in England on June 1. England will face Bangladesh in the opening match.
The Brand Ambassadors, who have been nominated by ICC, played 1774 ODI matches among them. They altogether scored 51 thousand and 906 runs. They hit 48 centuries and bagged 883 wickets.
Habibul Bashar led Bangladesh National Cricket team in the ICC Champions Trophy in 2006.
Habibul Bashar said, ” I feel pride as ICC has appointed me the Brand Ambassador of ICC Champions Trophy. To promote ICC Champions Trophy is a satisfactory job. Top eight teams will play for the top position. I am eagerly waiting for play my role. It is a great opportunity to execute our thoughts.”
Bashar said, ” Bangladesh will take part in the ICC Champions Trophy after a decade.
I shall watch the matches of Bangladesh with an attentive mood as Bangladesh have ability to beat any team. Bangladesh are now a notable team with a combination of experienced players and promising cricketers.”
